#FrizzFreeHair | Vatika Women's Indiblogger Meet

Hey Everyone!!!

Dabur Vatika is one of the oldest and well known hair oil brands in India. They recently organised a Women's Blogger Meet in association with IndiBlogger for the launch of their new product in Mumbai on 10th October, 2015. Apart from the blogger, the event was also attended by the Management students of NMIMS.

After the registrations, the event began with a rocking performance by the IndiBlogger Band.

This was followed by introduction to Dabur Vatika, its various products and finally the new Dabur Vatika Jasmine Frizz Control Oil was unveiled.

The launch was followed by discussions on hair care and a fun filled game of ROCK PAPER SCISSOR but with a tweak. Whoever won got to mess the other persons hair. And yes we didnt have to worry about going home with the messy hair as they had arranged for Champi stations to pamper our tresses.

The event was wrapped up after the lunch but not before a group picture.

How To Get Rid Of Pimples

Who is more excited about a wedding than the bride herself? Yes its the bride's sister. Looking the best among hundred other girls is not her right, but duty.  So months before my sister's wedding, I had started the preparations. I had made sure everything was in place almost a month before the big day.

  • Lehenga  ✔
  • Shoes ✔
  • Jewellery ✔
  • Makeup ✔
It all seemed perfect, till I saw my face in the mirror. There it was! Two PIMPLES. Right on my right cheek!
Why? How? When? All sorts of questions in my head. All of them at once. Is it because of the oily samosas I ate the other day? Or because of all the time I spent shopping in the sun? No wait. I am sure its because of the one skin sin I had been repeating for the last few days. Who does that? How did I forget my night time CTM  routine :(

I asked every other person I could for solutions.

Granny: Neem ka lep laga lo.
Bro (Free Advice): Teri shaadi nahi hai.
Bestie: Don't worry. Use a nice concealer.

Clearly, none of these helped. And it clearly showed on my face. That is when Mummy came to my rescue. The first thing she said was "Fret not. The wedding is not tomorrow. You still have fifteen days in hand". I still had a question mark on my face. Then these are the few tips that she gave me.
And honestly, it was not a rocket science.

  1. Forget that you have a pimple. The more you stress about it, the chances are you'll end up touching them. Who knows even pop them. Though all of us know we shouldn't, some of us still do it. Don't we?
  2. Get back to your morning and night CTM routine.
  3. Start using a face wash, specially meant for pimple problem. A neem face wash. Neem is a great antibacterial and great for your skin.
  4. Use the homemade face pack, twice every week.
"Will this help? " I asked. "Yes it will" she said. The very next morning, I went to the nearby medical store to buy a neem face wash. I did not have any particular product in my mind. So asked the store owner to give me something good.
He gave me the Garnier Pure Active Neem Face wash. "Is it good?" I asked. He gave me an affirmative nod.

I started following all of the tips Mummy gave. Honestly, with so much of hustle and bustle going around, I had completely forgotten about it. I was only after 10 days that I realized it had gone completely. Looked like there never was a pimple at that spot. I couldn't thank my Mummy (and the medical store guy) enough. Its been over 2 months now and I am still using the Garnier Pure Active Neem face wash . It is a great face wash to get rid of pimples. And for those who are blessed with pimple free skin, this will help you maintain that.

If you want a detailed review of the Garnier Pure Active Neem, do let me know in the comments below.

Also, if you have any tricks and tips for clear skin, I would love to read them.

Ghar Wali Diwali

Hey Everyone

I know its been really long since I wrote the last post. But trust me new job (with working Saturday : ( ) leave me with no time to do anything. Kudos to all the Bloggers who manage both work and blog regularly.

Yesterday, I managed to leave early from office and on my way back home, I was making a list of things that I can do once I reach home - Clean, my room, update blog, order a pizza and watch a movie before I doze off. But as they say - Do not count your chickens before they are hatched.

All my plans went down the drain when I saw that the door was locked. I didn't have house keys. I never carry them as I usually come back late and there is someone at home all the time. Locked out on Saturday evening at least for an hour. Poor me.

So I went down sat on an old  bike with earphones plugged in. I still prefer to sit on old bikes even if the seats are empty. And when I looked up, saw only one diwali lantern lit up. Only one of the 32 apartments had diwali lights with the festival less than a week away.

Are festivals really choosing their charms? I remember how grand diwali was when we were kids. I started with 10 days Diwali vacation. Mummy made so many sweets and savouries. I always wanted the first karanji that she fried and she would say "thanda hone do. Muh jal jaayega" . How the house was cleaned and painted every year just before diwali. Early in the morning, on the day of Lakshmi pooja, beautiful rangolis were made. We would dress up  in new clothes and go down to light up some phuljharis. No bursting crackers because we were told its not a good thing. The last time I burst crackers was when in class 3.Hated it back then but I am really happy now that we didn't. After the pooja we had a lavish diwali dinner cooked with love by Mummy. This is how diwali was celebrate. Simple but filled with love. Everyone is busy now. Away from home for studies, work.  I so miss  Ghar Wali Diwali .

How do you celebrate diwali? Do let me know in comment below.

P.S. : I had put up the diwali lighting  as soon as I got into the house yesterday night. Mummy was puzzled "Itni kya ghai hai?"

Happy Diwali:)

Zindagi - Jodey Dilon Ko

Hey Everyone !!!!

If you follow me on Twitter you already know what I did last Saturday. If not go here and read. Or just continue reading this post :D.

I got a chance to attend yet another Indimeet. If you have been reading the blog for a while you know how much I love them.  A chance to meet fellow bloggers, lots of fun activities and great food always make my day.

Zindagi IndiBlogger Meet was organized in Mumbai and Delhi to introduce us to Zee's new entertainment channel Zindagi - Jodey Dilon Ko

The launch of Zindagi is significant in many ways as it is not just as entertainment channel
but  a  philosophy  that  will  help  Indians  empathize  with  the  lives  of  those  across  the
geographical  borders.  Zindagi  reinforces  the  vision  of  ZEE’s  corporate  philosophy
‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbukam ‐ The World is My Family’ and aims to unite people in India and
across the world with shows produced overseas.

Entertainment is seamless as it cuts across boundaries and across strats of society. With the
message of ‘Jodey Dilon Ko’,  Zindagi will touch hearts and break barriers to relate with
people living across borders. As the first‐ever national launch for a Hindi language channel,
the objective is to continue to deliver and spread strong human values through hand‐picked
content across the world.

Starting June 23, Zindagi will bring viewers in India stories from across the border, starting
with stories from Pakistan that embrace universal emotions. A variety of shows, written by
award‐winning novelists, literary stalwarts and adapted from famous novels and books, will
engage audiences as a fresh alternative on television.

This meet was not just fun but also heart touching. We were not only live in conversation with Delhi bloggers all the time but also got to interact with people from across the border - Sultana Apa, the director of Hum Network and Actor Imran Abbas (HE IS HOT!!!!) who joined us at the Mumbai venue.
Rather than writing a long post, let me just quickly tell you the highlights of the day.

Did you see Delhi Blogger on those two screens?

  • This is the first time these international shows will air on Indian Television starting with Pakistani TV shows. But there are already fans of Pakistani TV shows here in India (All thanks Youtube). If you don't watch TV serials like me because most of them are looooooooooooong and unrealistic give these shows a try. Why you ask? Well these shows don't have more than 25-30 episodes  and promise some good and realistic stories. Also you finally get to see what life really is across the border.
Add caption

  • It was Mumbai v/s Delhi. Yes debate on which city is better in terms of transport, street food, bloggers and Men (in terms of hotness). MUMBAI IT IS. And yes we earned it by proving it at the event.
Imran Abbas

  • It was great interacting with people from across the border. To see that there is no difference between them and us. As Imran Abbas said - "Ek hi mitti se humari jade nikli hai" (we have common roots.) Also both Sultana Apa and Imran Abbas, answered each and every question that they were asked by the bloggers from both the cities not just related to TV but everything in general.
Mumbai Bloggers

  • And apart from these we of course had the regular fun games that ended with a hud hud and a group photo. I am so happy that I got to attend attend this Inter-city and Across Border meet. Hats off to Indiblogger and Zee for making this happen.
Don't forget to tune into Zindagi TV starting 23rd June, 2014 not just for entertainment, but also to support this attempt by Zee to bring together the two countries.

TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo Conditioner | Review

Hey Everyone !!!

For those who have been reading the blog for a while now, I was a tomboy is no news. But for those who haven't been, here is a quick flashback - I was a total tomboy till a few years ago. I never cared what I wore, how I looked. Many a times I  would go out wearing my Bro's T-shirt with loose jeans. Makeup, skin care, hair care were not at all a part of my life. No not even Kajal or Lip balm. Wondering why I am telling you all this? Continue reading and you will know why.

One day during school summer vacations, one of my cousins had come to my place. She was I-Know-It-All types. She saw me picking and ripping the ends of my hair in the afternoon and said,
" Oh no!!! What is wrong with you? Don't do that. They look really bad. You have to cut them now."

I looked at her with a a shock face "What? What are you talking about?"

"Split ends. Don't you know you have to cut them or else they'll  grow upwards and lead to hair fall. You have to get a hair cut asap." she said.

"Really? No other way to get rid of these?I don't want to go to the parlor" I said.

"No" she said. " Cutting your hair is the only solution for split ends."

And this is what I have been doing all these year. Split Ends = Hair cut. Not just me, all the people I know do this, even if they don't want to.

So when TRESemme came up with their new range - Split Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner I had to try it out. I have been using this for about a month now and here is my review.

TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo Conditioner

This is what my hair looked like before I started using the TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner. There were no split ends but the ends of my hair had become very dry and rough.

TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo Conditioner

My thoughts:

The shampoo has a very runny consistency and lathers up very well. 2 washes and it leaves the scalp clean. Though you may need an additional round of wash if you have oiled your hair. It has the typical TRESemme fragrance which is quite pleasing and lingers for a while even after 4-5 hours.

My thoughts:

The Conditioner is very thick and creamy. Similar to shampoo this too  has the typical TRESemme fragrance which is quite pleasing and lingers for a while even after 4-5 hours. Hydrates the hair very well and also keeps it from tangling.

Final verdict:

So does this work? Yes it does!!!  Though I didn't have split ends but it did help repair rough, dry ends. With all the dryness gone, the hair looks soft and hydrated. No more hair cuts for split ends now : D.Also it did not lead to any hair fall. At this price it is a great shampoo not just when you have dry / split ends but also for everyday use.

Don't know why the camera could't capture it, but it looks far better in person.

Tips To Recharge Your Hair

Hey Everyone!!!

Smooth, shiny and manageable hair is  all that (Okay, spotless skin, soft pink lips, million dollar smile, expressive eye too. I know the list is endless!!! But lets just keep it to hair today.) we girls want. But very few of us are fortunate to actually have that.

Honestly, I have never had voluminous and bouncy tresses but yes they were soft, silky and manageable when I was a kid all thanks to mom. She made sure that they were oiled regularly and also applied a hair mask she prepared at home once every month. Apart from that I did not travel much and of course no crazy styling, no heat, nothing.

But gone are the days. All thanks to pollution, styling and many other reasons I am left with half the amount of hair I actually had and whatever is left is nothing that I can boast of :(
It has been that way for a while but it was only last month when I had a wedding in family did I realize how bad it has gone.  While all the other girls had let their hair down for the functions I had to tie it up into buns and pony tails. Have you faced a similar situation too?

And all this led to one of my new year resolution. I had to something about my dull hair. I had to RECHARGE them, give them a new life.

Have you too had bad hair days. Hiding it with a floral scarf during a romantic bike ride? Buns and braids for the party? And cutting it short only for it to grow back into a lifeless bunch again? If yes, then read on for some tips that may be helpful. These are some small changes that will take time but surely bring a positive change.

Hair Oil:

Be it the good old coconut oil, olive oil, the much raved argan oil or any other hair oil of your choice. Start oiling your hair once every week. This is one of the best ways to nourished hair. If you cannot leave it overnight, keep it on for a couple of hours before hair wash.

Hair Mask:

Everyone loves pampering and so does your hair. Book an appointment at the spa or you can do it yourself too. There are many hair masks available in the market to choose from. Also you can make one yourself with a little help from kitchen. Egg mask and Banana mask work great for me.

Wash Your Hair Right:

Now this is very important. Its very important to do it right. Do not use too much of shampoo always start with a small amount and repeat till you are left with a clean scalp. Never ever skip the CONDITIONER. Also choosing the right product according to your scalp and hair type is important. Use serum or leave in conditioner if necessary.

Stay away from Chemicals and Heat:

As far as possible don't go overboard with styling. Give your hair a break from the coloring. Avoid using heating tools. And when using one be sure to use a heat protection spray. Also try to towel dry your instead of blow drying.

Sunsilk Natural Recharge

Also try using products that are less filled with chemicals and more natural. Don't know where to start? Well Sunsilk has come up with New Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo and Conditioner.  It is infused with ginseng plant root extract It gives your hair strength and vitality so that girls can live their life to the full with their strong beautiful and visibly abundant hair
I am surely trying this one out and would review it here soon.

Hope these tips are helpful and next time you go out you can let them down and enjoy without worrying. Recharge your hair to recharge your life.

The Reliance Digital Experience

Hello Everyone!!!

Indiblogger recently came up with a new initiative - The Reliance Digital Experience, in association  with  Reliance Digital .

The event required us to choose a store as per our convenience. After that an Indiblogger invite would be sent in our mail box that we had to flash at the selected store for the experience.

Store

I quickly chose the Mulund store which is a 20 minutes walk from my place. And no I won't go there walking 20 minutes on a  rainy weekend :P.

My Experience :

Venue:  I visited the Reliance Digital Store, Mulund (W) on 22nd June 2013 at 13:35 with a friend who is in search of a new phone.

Store

As soon as we reached the store I flashed my Indiblogger invite. They asked me to make an entry in the visitors register and hand over the copy of invite. After completing the formalities I entered the store where I was welcomed by one of the staff members. He asked me to wait till he sends out a representative.  I met few fellow bloggers who were waiting too. Also a few others who had arrived earlier were already checking out the store with the SA. He came back after few minutes and told me that being a weekend, the staff was busy attending others. So he requested me to wait till someone is free or go around the store and if there is anything I want to know I can ask him or the other staff members. I decided to go around the store with my friend.

Reliance Digital, Mulund(W)

The store is quite spacious and spread over a very large area. The products are arranged according to their categories like  - Mobile phones, Laptops, T.V, Audio, Camera, Kitchen Appliances, Home Appliances,  Gaming, etc. Each category has many products from various local as well as international brands. This makes it very easy to compare. Also the M.R.P. as well as the NEW Reliance price are mentioned for every product.

Products

There is a dedicated staff for each category. The staff is knowledgeable, polite and helpful. We checked out few cellphones that my friend had zeroed down. When we asked about a certain feature, they gave us a very detailed demonstration and also asked us to try it out.

After that we moved on to checkout some cameras. If you had read my previous post, you may know that  my old camera is no more and hence I am looking forward to buy a new one. So we asked the SA to show us a few cameras. She asked me about the usage, how much I am willing to spend, etc. and then showed me a few cameras that fit into my budget.

Also there are many exciting offers going on and they are displayed very next the products.

Offers

One of the interesting feature at the store are the Experience Pillars. These pillars help the customers to touch, use and explore various products before buying  There are various experience pillar all over the store for Mobile Phones, Laptops, etc. These pillar have various products belonging to a particular categories. Also the product specifications and a comparison chart are displayed on these pillars to help the customers choose the best.

Experience Pillars.

Another feature to look out for is the Home Theatre Engagement Zone. It is a dedicated area where you can experience the home theatre systems like in the comfort of your own house. Similarly there  is also a Play Station Zone , a Smart TV section, etc. where you get to use the products and then buy.

Home Theatre Engagement Zone

Also they have an after Sales service and Support known as ResQ which helps you in product installation, break down or maintenance. The ResQ personnel shall personally visit, rectify and provide you with a step-by-step guidance for maintenance till the life cycle of the product. For more information on this visit the store

ResQ
They have various payment options to choose from like- Credit Card, E.M.I, etc to suit everyone's need. Also, Gift Cards in various denominations are available at the store which are redeemable across the country. So next time you cannot decide what to gift your geek friends, this is surely a great option.

With this I was done with the store tour. It took me approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to go around the complete store. After this Nidhi, who was there to monitor this activity took my video about the entire experience. The Reliance Digital Experience was great.

Last Words:

Reliance Digital is a One stop shop for all your gadgets and appliances needs. Experience the latest technology before buying, exciting discounts, various payment options and much more - all this under one roof, what more do you want?  Do checkout the Store. Leaving you with a cute picture displayed next to their Speakers section. Isn't it cute? ^_^  There were many more like this one.

You can checkout their Website to know more about them. Also subscribe to their YouTube ChannelFacebook and Twitter page to stay updated about latest happenings and offers.

WeChat, the new way to connect

Hello Everyone!!!

Time:  12:30 a.m.

I was in my room. Like every other day. Chatting with my friends on WeChat. The phone vibrating continuously with notifications.
I am busy chatting. Reading, smiling and then replying. I suddenly see Mummy standing in front of me. Staring at me. She looks a bit upset. Donno why ?? The phone vibrates again. I look down to read the chat message. Simultaneously the conversion with Mummy goes on.

Me: What happened Mummy? You want something?

Mummy: No

Me: ( still typing a reply) Then why are you still awake?

Mummy: What are you doing?

Me:  Nothing much. Just chatting with my friends.

Mummy: Look at the time. Its 12:30 and you are still chatting. And then you won't wake up in the morning and keep asking for endless " 5 minutes more please " Go to sleep right now.

Me: Just 10 more minutes please. And its Saturday tomorrow. No lectures.

Mummy: No 10 minutes. Keep that phone aside and go to sleep. RIGHT NOW!!!

Me: But...

Mummy: No if and but. Put it aside and go to sleep. Or else give it to me.

Give her the phone. NOOOO.....I am about to tuck it under the pillow.

Mummy: Not under the pillow, keep it on the side table.

She walks out muttering - These kids now a days. Even 24 hrs is not enough for them........

It was a tiring day. Lectures, Practicals, Submission all day followed by traffic jam thanks to the Mumbai monsoon. All tired I was soon asleep.
